Who We Are!

Summit Speech Therapy is a private practice owned by Amanda J. Ahmed, MA, EdM, CCC-SLP. In addition to living in the Plano/Frisco area, she is also a parent and juggles after-school activities and family time like everyone else. Being an active parent helped her realize why this clinic is needed- families need a reliable, safe, & fun speech therapy clinic that has convenient hours and a caring team invested in your loved one.
We also have an in-house developed approach to planning and therapy which we call FUN- All care plans created must be: Functional, Unique, and Necessary. This formula is the key to seeing quality results using evidence-based practice.

You're In Good Hands

At our practice, clinical evaluations are performed by fully licensed speech-language pathologists, who have earned a master’s degree and have completed (or are in the process of completing) a Clinical Fellowship Year by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. We will work closely with your other health care providers to ensure continuity of care. These results are conveyed to the referring physician so that together, we can develop an appropriate plan of treatment.

I worked with Becca Harshman and she helped me so much. I was looking for an OT to treat me like an adult, but still help me with my challenges. As an autistic adult it was hard finding providers to work with me at my level. Then I found Summit Therapy and started working with Becca, and she was exactly what I needed. We’ve been taking our toddler here for the Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy since last two years. Occupational Therapist Becca is thorough, pay attention to detail and my kid learnt a lot in her classes. She sometimes gets assistance from OT apprentices. Under the guidance of Speech therapist Hira Ahmed, my kid learnt lots of words and effective verbal communication. Her new speech therapist Tori Ashley is also having so much experience and building kids communication effectively. The therapists use latest therapy techniques to improve the skills of kiddos. It’s insurance covered and billing team is also efficient.

How many stars should you give someone who changes your child’s life? Five is not enough. For over 20 years we worked fruitlessly with multiple providers trying to help better understand and address our daughter’s myriad of challenges. Then we met Madi at Summit Therapy. Madi, and later on her colleague Becca, truly listened and cared and made it their mission to do what no providers had been able to do: help my daughter to learn, grow, cope, develop and live a better and more fulfilling life. As a parent of a child with special needs, it can be so frustration to work with providers who treat through cookie-cutter one size fits all approaches, then say there is nothing they can do when those approaches inevitably fail. At Summit, Madi and Becca tirelessly invested their time and energy to truly get to the heart of my daughter’s issues and personalize her treatment. Our “F.U.N.” Approach to Therapy

At Summit Therapy Services we’ve created a three-part system to make therapy effective and enjoyable, simply named, FUN!

Your loved one will have goals that allow them to communicate across every-day settings effectively, based on your/their input, not based solely from test results.

Each individual plan and goals are set with your input, not from a “goal bank”, custom-tailored to help you or your loved one succeed.

We track progress every session using an in-house data collection system. We decide together when you have reached your goals or need a change in goals. If a refresher therapy session or two is needed, come back!

There are no contracts for length of therapy and no minimum number of sessions. Helping your loved one is our top priority.
